Greetings & Salutations! You've found parking spot
on the internet where we plan to flex out on some
e-curbs, show off some pictures and share a bit of
Pathfinder info. This is the home for Simon's 95 LE
WD21 and Pezzy's 99.5 XE R50. Above you'll find
links to more info about us, our trucks, our trips
and anything else we find webworthy.
Thanks for visiting, eh!

Another wheeling season is behind
us, save for the possibility we may find a place to
get lost in the snow over the winter. It's been a
good year, and we'll now be spending the next few
months giving the pathys some much needed TLC, and
maybe some upgrades.
This past month we had a couple
club runs with NTC. The Fall Colours run, put on by
Cowapathy (the wheeler formerly known as Cowazuki)
was a fun run, mostly on road, and some light trails
in and around Caledon & Orangeville. Pics are
*here*.
More recently was one last trip to
Shoelace before the snowmobilers take over the
trails. The trail was much muddier than at the end
of the summer. We found many mudholes that were not
there before. (check out my stuck pics!).
But the mud wasn't enough for one
wheeler... always thinking outside the trail, Wayne
tried a new line across the last water crossing. We
learned a lot that night...
There is a big drop off to the
right, don't go that way.
How to deal with a broken winchline... again...
AND again.
Synthetic line breaks well. (just falls to the
ground).
How to use a hi-lift & chain as recovery tools.
Nige is an excellent swimmer.
Once again, a snorkel does not make your truck a
boat.
It took some creative recovery, a couple hours in
the water, and a couple more to tow the waterlogged,
ECU-fried pathy to the road. See for yourself: The
pics
*here*.

Well, the season is winding down,
and save for a little glitch in the middle of it (my
dead truck) it's been a good one. We've done a
lot of wheeling this summer, and seen a few new
trails, that have been both challenging, and
entertaining. Still a few more events to
go, but surely the highlight of the year is Pezzy
taking her grocery gettin', AT riding, unibody havin'
R50 Pathy to the top of the hillclimb at
Bobcaygeon's Concession lake trail. There are few
within our club who have made the climb, and all of
the successful drivers had much larger, seemingly
more capable rigs at their disposal. Pezzy showed once again that no one can ever count
her, or her Green Monster out.
I'm proud of you babe....good job!

It's been a busy summer, a few
wheeling trips to Bob C, Ardbeg, and one memorable
trip to Minden. Sadly we announce the retirement of
Simon's Pathy 'Old Red'. One mudhole = loss of
tranny/t-case, alternator, and the final straw, the
frame gave out, and a spring perch snapped.
A few weeks of shopping has united
Simon with his latest project, dubbed "Atari" (you
gotta hear the alarm beeps on this thing!!) Atari is
a 1995 Pathy, LE with all the toys, heated leather
seats, auto climate controls, working AC and all the
toys Old Red had. This one is an automatic
transmission, so Simon will be hitting the imaginary
clutch for a few weeks while he settles in (I'll
admit, I've already done it a few times!). Atari
also only has 120,000 km's -- so she has more toys
and less km's than my Green Machine.
Simon has already begun the process of swapping
parts, the lift, steering & tires are on, left to do
are some electronics (stereo, CB) and odds and ends.
Check out her new page.

Well the body lift is done, and
after driving it for a week with the added height
and new tires, I'm convinced everything was a
success. Saturday, May 12th, was a long
day working on the old girl, but thanks to very
helpful friends, worked out very well.
Pictures are in the "Other
Events" section of the site. Enjoy.... :)

I'm
trying like hell to figure out this web crapola,
realizing that yes, in fact, I don't know smit about
designing a website, and trial and error are my
friend. Also, the source of some mighty fine rage...
shall be interesting!
In
other news, wheeling season is soon, and we are both
looking forward to hitting the trails. It's been a
long winter, and we're itching to go play.
Upcoming mods: Simon has a few plans for the WD21,
including an ARB bumper. Of course, most
anticipated, will actually be Dan's (vengeful) new
to him TJM bumper... (finally I can get away from
his guilt trips!) Not much happening with the R50,
besides cleaning & repainting all the parts I bashed
off rocks last year, and lost the battle to salt
over the winter. |
